Police search for couple in connection with attempted break-ins in West Piney area

Police are looking for a man and woman in connection with several burglaries and attempted break-ins in the West Piney area Tuesday. The pair was last seen in a green convertible with a tan top after being confronted at a home by a neighbor. The witness reported seeing the couple go to a nearby home and knock on the door, then look inside windows and go around back to a storage building. When the neighbor confronted the couple, they said they were looking for someone named Johnny and must be at the wrong home and left. A couple matching that description was spotted at another area home where there was evidence of an attempted break-in. Similar reports came from residences on Locke Hollow and Coon Creek roads Tuesday. The man was described as thin and dirty-looking while the woman was reported to be plus-sized. Police ask residents to be aware of vehicles in their neighborhoods and to call law enforcement if anything suspicious is spotted.
