Dickson police are searching for an armed man who held up the Dollar General store near Wal-Mart Tuesday evening. Detective Seth Lyles says the suspect took less than $200 at gunpoint and fled on foot from the store at 188 Beasley Drive. The suspect is believed to be a white male approximately 5 feet, 8-9 inches tall. He was wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt and black and camouflage-colored pants with a distinctive design on the front and back. He covered his face with a navy scarf and wore gloves, but Lyles said the store clerk was able to determine the suspect is Caucasian by exposed skin around his eyes. The suspect was armed with a handgun and entered the store around 6:54 pm Tuesday and demanded cash from the register. He is believed to have fled on foot and was not seen getting into a vehicle nearby. Lyles said he is still working with the Dollar General store to obtain images from security video. Anyone with information related to Tuesday night’s robbery or a possible suspect is asked to call Lyles at 441-9565 or the Dickson Police Department’s anonymous tipline at 441-9555.
