In a joint statement read at Monday night’s Dickson County Commission and Dickson City Council meetings, it was announced that Project Falcon has chosen Dickson as its “preferred location finalist.” Neither county Mayor Bob Rial or Dickson City Administrator Rydell Wesson, who read the same prepared statement, would elaborate any further. The statement says the company wishes to remain unidentified at this time until a formal announcement with the appropriate state and local officials can be made. Almost a year ago, local officials announced that an unnamed Fortune 500 company was considering the William D. Field-Dickson County Industrial Park as a possible site for a manufacturing facility. It was reported that company would make a two-phase investment of up to $175 million and create as many as 300 new jobs, with the potential for further expansion. It was later reported that Dickson and Jonesboro, Arkansas, were the two finalists for the plant. The statement says the company will proceed with site-related due diligence and obtaining all necessary permits with an announcement coming when that process is completed. No timeline was announced for the next steps in the process.
