Reception tonight to introduce new Humane Society Executive Director Billy Higgins

A reception to introduce the new executive director of the Humane Society of Dickson County is scheduled for this evening. Billy Higgins took over as the society’s first permanent director in over five years last month. The Fairview resident previously worked in fund-raising and development for Camp Marymount and with the Transportation Management Association in Franklin. The humane society’s board has made obtaining a new building to replace the current shelter on Eno Road a priority and will outline its plan and long-range goals at tonight’s reception to be held 5:30-7:30 at the Tennsco Community Center. A local corporate benefactor reportedly has been looking into obtaining and renovating a building to become the society’s new shelter. To RSVP for tonight’s reception, call the shelter at 446-7387.
