With district games being played tonight, the Creek Wood Red Hawks are still fighting for seeding while the Lady Red Hawks know they will face the winner of a play-in game in the opening round Wednesday. Creek Wood closes out the regular season hosting Lewis County tonight in a game postponed from last week due to the threat of weather. The Red Hawks will be battling to finish tied with Camden for second place at 13-3. The Lions finished their district schedule by beating Stewart County 45-41 Friday. Creek Wood beat Lewis County by 10 in January and a win tonight leaves them tied with Camden. Since both teams lost twice to undefeated Waverly and split their regular season series, the number-two seed will come down to a tie breaker to be determined by the district coaches. Either way, Creek Wood will be hosting a District 11-AA tournament quarterfinal as either the number two or number three seed Thursday. The semifinals will be Saturday with the finals Feb. 18 at Waverly. The Lady Red Hawks have already locked up the number-one seed and head into tonight’s game against Lewis County hoping to complete their second straight undefeated district season. Even with district games still being played tonight, Montgomery Central and Fairview are locked in as the eighth and ninth seeds for the girls. They will face each other Tuesday in Cunningham for a play-in game with the winner traveling to Creek Wood for a 6 pm contest Wednesday. The semifinals will be Saturday and finals Feb. 17 at Waverly. Creek Wood and Lewis County can be heard tonight streaming on the RFC Sports Network starting at 5:45.
