The Renaissance Center’s Choral Department presents it spring concerts Tuesday and Thursday in the Anne Deason Performance Hall. The Training and Children’s Choirs will perform at 7 pm Tuesday and the Chamber and Community Choirs will perform at 7 pm Thursday. All the choirs are under the direction of Chris Greene with Marianna Wakeman as accompanist. Tickets for each concert are $5. Comprised of students in first and second grades, the Training Choir’s performance will include a variety of songs including When You Wish Upon a Star, My Shadow, Three Little Fishies and more. Featuring students in grades 3-7, the Children’s Choir performance ranges from folk songs to Broadway to movie soundtracks and will include Life Is a Highway, Kids on Broadway, Follow the Drinkin’ Gourd and more. The two choirs will combined for a patriotic medley. The Community Choir is an ensemble of singers from 8th grade to adults and the spring concert includes performances of Prayer of the Children, a Broadway medley, How Great Thou Art, Witness and more. The Chamber Choir is a smaller group that performs more difficult arrangements to include Music’s Empire, Operator, Brown Eyed Girl, A Branch of May and more.
