Renaissance Players bring back popular ‘A Christmas Carol: The Musical’ Nov. 30-Dec. 16

The Renaissance Center brings back last year’s immensely popular production of A Christmas Carol: The Musical, opening this weekend. The Renaissance Players community production features Dickson’s Greg Frey returning in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge but all other roles have been cast differently from last year’s successful production. Bryan Wlas is directing this year’s production while Nathan Brown is musical director. While some of last year’s cast returns for the new version, they have all be cast in different roles. The production is the traditional story of Scrooge and the visits from the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future from Charles Dickens’ novella, but also features music from Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens, whose credits include Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Ragtime and Seussical. Performances are 7 pm Fridays and Saturdays and 2 pm Sundays Nov. 30-Dec. 16. A special lunch matinee will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 1. Those buying adult or senior tickets by Nov. 29 can save $4 off each ticket. For tickets or information, call 740-5600 or visit www.rcenter.org.
