Screenings, seminars, demonstrations at Renaissance Center Health and Wellness Fair

The Renaissance Center will be offering a wide range of screenings, classes and seminars during a Health and Wellness Fair Saturday. The free fair will be 10 am-4 pm. The Lipscomb University School of Nursing and College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will be offering free screenings and seminars for people of all ages throughout the day. Dr. Ming Wang, noted ophthalmologist, corneal surgeon and founder of the Wang Vision Institute in Nashville, will present a program on vision care at 10:30 in the Performance Hall. The center’s dance and fitness instructors will be demonstrating fitness programs. Street Works will be on hand to offer HIV/AIDS education, counseling and testing. The day also will include a variety of health-related vendors. Free health screenings in the rotunda will include blood pressure, blood glucose, hemoglobin, carotid artery stenosis exams, body mass index, vision, ear canal, medication reviews, nutrition counseling and more. There will be classes on diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, weight loss and management, osteoarthritis, Alzheimer’s Disease, stress and depression.
