The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Monday afternoon shooting in the Claylick area that apparently stemmed from a landlord-tenant dispute. From the scene of the shooting in the 100 block of Lincoln Road, Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe said one man was apparently shot once in each leg during an altercation. Detectives were waiting to talk to him after he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with what was described as non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office has not released the identities of either of the two men involved in the shooting but Bledsoe said the man believed to have been the shooter was at the scene cooperating with investigators. The shooting report initially came around 2:30 Monday afternoon as a landlord allegedly shooting a 55-year-old tenant he was attempting to evict from a building on his property. A witness reported the tenant might have come at the landlord with a knife and Bledsoe said officers were investigating whether the shots might have been fired in self-defense. The sheriff said Monday he was not sure if any charges would be filed immediately and no other information has been released.
