The Dickson County Commission will meet in a special called session prior to Monday night’s work session to approve the refinancing of some of the county’s debt. In presenting this year’s budget, Mayor Bob Rial said the county could avoid a property tax increase by refinancing some of the county’s debt to even out the payments. He said the term of the debt would not be extended. Last month Rial told the commission that the state Comptroller’s office has approved the refinancing plan. He said he plans to have a bond representative present to explain the plan at the special session set for 7 pm Monday in the Courthouse Annex in Charlotte. Following the special session, the commission will hold its monthly work session.
