Spooks in the Park, trunk or treats provide safe fun for kids on Halloween

It’s Halloween and local law enforcement agencies are warning motorists to be on the lookout for trick or treaters on the roads tonight. Parents also are being asked to make sure their little ghosts and ghouls use extra care if trick or treating door to door, suggesting they use areas with sidewalks and stay out of traffic lanes at all times. They also suggest that not only should children be dressed in costumes that can easily be seen, but also that allow them to see well. Organized trick or treating events tonight include the 8th annual Spooks in the Park sponsored by the Dickson Parks and Recreation Department. The free event is 6-9 pm at Buckner Park. Dickson First United Methodist Church is holding its trunk or treat 6-8 pm and trunk or treat starts at the Friendship World Outreach in the Dickson Plaza Shopping Center at 6:30.
