Spring Hill ends Red Hawks’ season 67-47 in Region 6-AA tournament semifinal

Creek Wood’s magical run through the postseason ended Tuesday night with a 67-47 loss to Spring Hill in the Region 6-AA semifinals at Charlotte. The Red Hawks finish the season at 15-10 as the District 11-AA Tournament runners up. Creek Wood struggled with Spring Hill’s size and physical play early as the Raiders built a 16-7 lead in the first period and extended the edge to 11 points at intermission. It grew to a 17-point difference by the end of the third and Spring Hill cruised to the 20-point win, ending the high school careers of five Red Hawk seniors: Michael Morgan, Spencer Clements, Chase Traverse, Rollie Plunkett and Adam Spicer. Morgan led Creek Wood with 14 points in his final game. Spring Hill advances to face Cheatham County for the Region 6-AA championship Thursday at Creek Wood. Both the Cubs and Raiders will move on to the state sectional round on Monday for a chance to play in the TSSAA state tournament.
