Suspect who prompted lockdown in Vanleer in custody, faces charges, possible evaluation

The suspect who prompted a lockdown at Vanleer Elementary School on Friday has been apprehended and the lockdown is being lifted. Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe reported shortly before 1:30 pm that the unidentified man was located by a Dickson County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division officer in the vicinity of the school where he apparently has a child attending. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and Bledsoe said he is likely to face charges for allegedly pointing a shotgun at another person earlier today but also likely will undergo a mental evaluation. Bledsoe said the school system was notified as soon as the man was in custody so the modified lockdown could be lifted.
