THP identifies pedestrian killed on I-40 Sunday night as Daniel M. Bledsoe of Dickson

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian killed on Interstate 40 Sunday night as 35-year-old Daniel M. Bledsoe of Dickson. The report by Trooper Fidencio Medina says Bledose came out from the wall under the Highway 46 overpass and ran into the eastbound lanes where he was hit by two tractor trailers. A 2008 Volvo carrying a load of rice was driven by Stephan A. Steward, age 41, of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, and a 2009 Volvo with a load of fresh produce was being driven by James. A. Arkell, age 58, of Homosassa, Florida. The report does not provide any information as to why Bledsoe ran onto the interstate but says no citations were issued or charges filed against the drivers, neither of whom was injured. The accident happened about 9:50 Sunday night and closed the eastbound lanes until just before midnight. The report says blood tests for alcohol and drugs have been requested on Bledsoe and both drivers, although there was no indication either driver was impaired. The accident remains under investigation.
