A tip led Dickson police to a small marijuana growing operation in the basement of a home in west Dickson Monday. Officers from the Dickson Police Department discovered 10 growing marijuana plants and about 29 baggies of processed marijuana that was ready to sell in the basement of the home at 136 Payne Springs Road. Crime suppression unit officers said they received a tip about the presence of the marijuana and obtained a search warrant for the premises. Scott Robert Powers, age 22, is charged with the cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $21,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Dickson Municipal Court May 16. Citations also were issued to his father, Scott Powers, for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
