After a 45-minute rain delay Monday night, Rossview was finally able to complete its 10-0 thrashing of Dickson County in the District 10-AAA baseball tournament in Clarksville. The Hawks put four runs on the board in the first inning and held the Cougars to only two hits all night as Dickson County drops into the losers’ bracket. The Cougars will face Northwest again Wednesday with the winner to take on Rossview in the site finals for a chance to advance to the district championship. Dickson County had to rally for extra innings to beat the Vikings 4-3 in Friday’s tournament opener. Creek Wood soccer got three goals from Tyler Turpin to beat Greenbrier 5-3 on a soggy field Monday in the District 10-A/AA tournament. The Bobcats led 2-1 at halftime before the Red Hawks turned up the heat after intermission. Creek Wood travels to White House for a semifinal match at 7 pm today. Dickson County soccer got off to a hot start in a 4-1 win over Northeast. Beau Badon scored the first of his two goals less than two minutes into the match and Sterling Hobbs and Justin Hawkins added scores as the Cougars built a 4-0 lead at intermission and goalkeeper Holden Foster made it stand for the win. Dickson County moves into the District 10-AAA semifinals to host West Creek tonight at 7:00. Both Dickson County and Creek Wood softball games set for Monday were rained out. The Lady Cougars will host Northeast at 5:30 and Creek Wood hosts Stewart County at 5:00 today.
