The Renaissance Center’s Community Concert and Jazz bands present their annual holiday concert tonight with a variety of seasonal, classical and pop music selections. The concert is 7 pm in the Anne Deason Performance Hall and tickets are $5. Directed by Dennis Barnes, the music ensembles are free and open to all musicians of all skill levels. The bands rehearse weekly and present two annual concerts in May and December. In tonight’s concert, the Community Concert Band presents a program that includes holiday favorites such as Patapan, patriotic selections such as America the Beautiful and a tribute to composer George Gershwin. The Jazz Band program includes classic songs such as Summertime and When I Fall in Love, Dizzy Gillespie’s A Night in Tunisia, and Laura Nyro’s Eli’s Coming, a 1975 pop hit for Three Dog Night, among other selections.
