The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association decided Tuesday to divide wrestling into two divisions for the the first time for individual championships and like it did in most other sports moved Dickson County High School into a new region. The Board of Control voted Tuesday to begin individual competition in Class AAA and Class A/AA for wrestling next year after previously only splitting dual competition. Class AAA will be divided into eight regions for dual and individual competition and Dickson County will move from Region 7 to Region 6. Like most other sports under the classification plan already passed, the Cougars will compete against schools from the Williamson and Davidson county areas instead of the Clarksville area schools. Region 6 will have 15 teams as Dickson County joins Brentwood, Centennial, Franklin, Independence, Ravenwood, Summit, Hillsboro, Antioch, Cane Ridge, Glencliff, Hillwood, Hunters Lane, McGavock and Overton. In most other sports, DCHS was moved to District 11-AAA in reclassification for the next four years.
