TSSAA realignment plan moves DCHS into district with Williamson County schools

The sports landscape for Dickson County High School could change drastically under a proposed realignment being considered by the TSSAA tomorrow. The Board of Control is scheduled to vote on a realignment plan for 2013-17 that would move DCHS back into a district with mostly Williamson County schools. Under the plan, Dickson County would move from District 10-AAA to District 11-AAA for all sports. Also in the district would be Brentwood, Centennial, Franklin, Independence, Ravenwood and Summit. The district would contain six teams in the 6A football division and Summit would be the only 5A team. The current District 10-AAA would remain the same except for the loss of Dickson County, leaving Rossview as the only 6A team. The new plan keeps Creek Wood in District 11-AA but moves Harpeth and Cheatham County into 9-AA and replaces them with Hickman County and East Hickman while keeping Camden, Montgomery Central, Stewart County and Waverly.
