WDKN to present forums with 78th and 69th district House candidates next week

WDKN and The One FM will present two forums next week featuring the candidates for Tennessee House of Representatives in the 78th and 69th districts. The forums will be broadcast live from the WDKN studio at 7 pm Monday and Tuesday. Monday’s forum will feature the candidates for the 78th District race: Democrat Linda Hayes of White Bluff, Republican Mary Littleton of Dickson and Independent Rick Wilson of Pleasant View. The 78th District includes the eastern half of Dickson County and all of Cheatham County and is an open seat after 10-year incumbent Republican Phillip Johnson decided not to run again. Tuesday’s forum will feature the candidates for the 69th District race: 12-year incumbent Democrat David Shepard of Dickson, Republican Wayne White of Slayden and Independent Kenneth Buser of Lyles. The 69th District includes the western half of Dickson County, all of Hickman County and a portion of Maury County. Shepard narrowly defeated White two years ago for his sixth two-year term. The forums will be broadcast live on WDKN1260AM, 101.5 The One FM and streamed over the Internet at wdkn.com and 1015theone.com. Early voting for the Nov. 6 election ends Nov. 1 and through Thursday 4,863 ballots have been cast in Dickson County.
