Weather layoff doesn’t slow DMS down with pair of big wins at Montgomery Central

The extended layoff due to weather didn’t slow down the Dickson Middle School basketball teams as they rolled over Montgomery Central in Cunningham Thursday. The Lady Dragons gave up only five points in the first half and rolled to a 49-13 win over Central in a game shortened by the mercy rule. Emily Beard led all scorers with 17 points in abbreviated playing time while Samantha Bullington added 16 as Dickson rolled to 19-1. The Dragons blew the game open with a 20-2 run in the third quarter to crush the Indians 52-17. Twelve different Dickson players scored, led by Jack Sensing with nine points. Dickson Middle closes out its regular season Tuesday hosting Northeast before heading into conference tournament action.
