The White Bluff Town Council is slated to formally approve an agreement tonight for the design of the proposed Zollie H. Bibb and Hazel C. Bibb White Bluff Civic Center, to be built with a $1.3 million donation from Richard Bibb. C&I Design did the preliminary drawings for the new center and also prepared the long-range building program for the Dickson County School System. Former Charlotte Mayor Jeff Corlew is president of the Franklin-based company. Last month the White Bluff council formally approved an agreement with businessman and accountant Bibb in which the town will borrow $1.3 million dollars to build the facility and Bibb will pay the loan off over a 10-year period. The new center, which will house the town’s library, provide classroom and meeting space, include a stage for performances and more, is planned for a five-acre site on Old Charlotte Road already donated by Bibb. The White Bluff Town Council meets at 7 pm in town hall. Prior to tonight’s meeting, the town will host a reception to honor the William James Middle School basketball teams and the White Bluff winners from the recent Dickson County 4-H public speaking contest.
