The White Bluff Town Council questioned the owner of an unfinished home about progress being made on the site on White Bluff Road Tuesday night. Bob Cameron of Murfreesboro said he is working on completing the home as he can afford it, but said his construction work has been very slow this year. Mayor Linda Hayes and council members expressed concerns about the condition of the lot as well as safety issues following reports of sightings of youths climbing into the structure. Cameron said he has just gotten the blocks to build the foundation for the home and he plans on moving into it as soon as he can. Vice Mayor Todd Hamilton questioned why no work seems to get done at the site until the council begins asking questions and invites Cameron to address the issues. Cameron denied that is the case and said he is working on the home as he can afford it. Hayes asked Cameron to clean up the lot to make it “presentable and respectable,” saying it can affect the value of surrounding properties. She said future concerns with the progress will be handled through the Board of Zoning Appeals.
