Dickson County High School seniors Ben Wolcott and JeQuan Lewis officially signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Wolcott officially signed a letter of intent to play golf at the University of Mississippi Thursday. The senior became the first DCHS player to appear in the TSSAA state golf tournament four times and finished as runner up this year after rallying in the final round to force a playoff for the title. Wolcott is the son of DCHS graduate Bob Wolcott, who won the 1979 state championship and played at Georgia and Wake Forest before competing 12 years on the PGA tour. A 6-foot point guard, Lewis signed to play basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University on Wednesday. The senior was the team’s leading scorer with 560 points last year and an All-District player for Coach Kevin Tuck’s squad, which opened its season Tuesday with a loss to Brentwood. Lewis verbally committed to the Rams in February over offers from Georgia, Austin Peay and several other schools. Several recruiting services listed Lewis among the top 10 recruits in Tennessee.
