Young Entertainers series presents ‘Seussical Jr.’ this weekend only at Renaissance Center

The whimsical world of Dr. Seuss comes to life this weekend at The Renaissance Center when the Young Entertainers on Stage series presents Seussical Jr. Performances are 7 pm Friday, 2 pm and 7 pm Saturday and 2 pm Sunday this weekend only. The YES series presents an annual production of a play adapted for and cast only with young actors in grades K-12. Resident musical director Nathan Brown directs a cast of 50 young actors from across Middle Tennessee in a musical story full of favorite Dr. Seuss characters as Horton the Elephant tries desperately to save the tiny residents of Whoville, whom only he can hear with his giant ears. Dr. Seuss characters like the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, Yertle the Turtle, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird and the Sour Kangaroo all make appearances. Seussical Jr. is the seventh production of the Young Entertainers on Stage series and its biggest show yet. The cast includes young actors from Dickson, Bon Aqua, Burns, Charlotte, Erin, Fairview, Franklin, Kingston Springs, McEwen, Nashville, New Johnsonville and Nunnelly.
