DICKSON COUNTY, TN – September 1, 2023 – The Dickson County Economic Development Alliance (EDA) Office has announced the appointment of Terry Malone as the Business Development Coordinator (BDC). Malone’s selection in 2022 signifies a major stride forward in the county’s ongoing commitment to bolster economic growth, entice new businesses, and elevate the overall quality of life in Dickson County and its neighboring areas.
Mrs. Malone brings a wealth of experience and education to her role as BDC. With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Science in Management from Austin Peay State University, she possesses a strong foundation in business and management.
Additionally, her Graduate Certificate in Public Administration Executive Leadership from Tennessee State University showcases her commitment to continuous professional development. She is also currently pursuing the Tennessee Certified Economic Developer certification, expected to be completed by the end of 2023, further solidifying her dedication to economic development.
Mayor Bob Rial, expressed his enthusiasm for this appointment, stating, “Today’s economic environment in Middle Tennessee requires a fulltime professional for us to succeed. I am excited that Terry has agreed to join our team and to continue to build on the success Dickson County has enjoyed over the last decade.”
Terry’s extensive career spans 19 years at the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, where she specialized in affordable housing initiatives. Her expertise in this field uniquely positions her to understand the dynamics of community development and economic empowerment.
In her new role as Business Development Coordinator, she will undertake a multifaceted approach to drive economic growth and community development within Dickson County. She will work closely with local businesses, leveraging her experience to retain and expand existing companies. Terry will also lead recruitment efforts to attract new businesses to the region, with the aim of fostering job creation and economic vitality.
Additionally, she will be instrumental in identifying redevelopment opportunities within the county, contributing to revitalization efforts that enhance economic prospects. Collaboration with regional partners is another critical aspect of her role, ensuring that initiatives benefiting Dickson County’s economy are approached collectively and with a unified vision.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Terry is an active member of the community. She has coached and served as president of Burns Little League and is the current Dickson Middle School softball coach, demonstrating her commitment to youth development. Her dedication to family values is reflected in her role as a proud parent to her children, Zach, Piper, Brantley, Paisley, and Gennifer.
