DICKSON, TN – On Sunday, May 12th, around 6:40 am the Dickson Police Department completed a welfare check of a person lying on the side of Beasley Drive near Highway 48 which is now believed to be the result of a fatal hit-and-run accident.

“When officers arrived at the location, they found a deceased male in the grass next to the road,” Detective Michael Carter stated. At this time the victim’s identity has not been confirmed, but is not believed to be homeless.

Beasley Drive is known to be something other than pedestrian-friendly. After an initial investigation, officers indicated that the victim was most likely walking along the road overnight when the incident occurred.

Investigators are asking that anybody who was on Beasley Drive between Highway 48 and Cowan Road between Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:00 am who might have seen a man walking or lying next to the road call the police.

“Anyone who saw something that could be related, no matter how insignificant it might seem, or anyone who drove through the area with a dashcam or other recording device could help the investigation,” stated Detective Carter.

Anyone with additional information should contact Detective Carter at 615-441-9527 or the Dickson Police Department’s confidential tip line at 615-441-9555.
